Only a few people ever get the chance to win a gold medal. But eternal life is a gift offered to all people regardless of nationality, religious background, race, or rank.

The term "eternal life" does not speak only of the length of life, but also of the quality of life God wants us all to enjoy. The following colors illustrate how to have this eternal life.

BLUE REPRESENTS HOPE

You can trust in God. God loves you so much that He wants to give you eternal life! The Bible states that the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord (Romans 6:23). But before receiving God's gift, we must understand our problem.

THIS COLOR REPRESENTS DARKNESS

Without Christ we are separated from God.

  • The Bible teaches that all have sinned and come short of God's glory (Romans 3:23).
  • We sin when we do things we should not, and not do things we should. You sin anytime your life does not follow God's perfect plan. Where have you sinned?
  • God has provided the way for your sins to be forgiven and for the gift of eternal life to be received. Only He can bring you out of darkness and into His marvelous light (1 Peter 2:9).

RED REPRESENTS CHRIST'S SACRIFICE ON THE CROSS

Jesus is the way to be forgiven and made whole.

  • Jesus said that He is the way; no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6).
  • Jesus died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sin. The Bible says that Christ died for sins once for all of us, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring us to God (1 Peter 3:18). But the story doesn't end there. The good news is that Jesus was resurrected. He overcame death.
  • But we must respond by receiving Him as Savior. The Bible states it this way, "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the power to become the children of God" (John 1:12).

GOLD REPRESENTS ETERNAL LIFE

You receive eternal life through faith.

  • The Bible says that we are saved by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8).
  • Faith in Jesus does not mean only believing the facts about Him. You must trust Him completely.
  • You can receive Christ right now in prayer. The Bible says that whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved (Romans 10:13).

The following prayer is offered as a suggestion to those seriously desiring to follow Jesus Christ.

Dear God, I know that I am separated from You. Thank You for sending Jesus to die for my sins. I want to turn from my sins and place my faith in Jesus right now. Please come into my life and be my Savior. Show me how to live, and I will seek to follow You the rest of my life.

If you prayed this prayer sincerely, God just gave you the gift of eternal life.

GREEN MEANS GROW!

Now you need to grow as a Christian. God's promises in the Bible are more important than feelings. Claim them by faith. They will make you even stronger. Read and claim these four promises from the Bible.

PROMISE ONE: Repent, and your sins will be blotted out (Acts 3:19). Did you repent (turn) from your sins and turn to Jesus Christ? If so, what did He promise to do? If you accept God's promise, check here.

PROMISE TWO: You are saved (made whole) by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8). Did you place your faith in Christ Jesus? If so, what did He promise to do? If you believe God's promise, check here.

PROMISE THREE: If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9). Did you surrender to Jesus Christ as your Savior? If so, what did He promise to do? If you claim God's promise, check here.

PROMISE FOUR: Whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved (Romans 10:13). Did you call on His name? If so, what did He promise to do?
